October 2019 – Arne Roosman
Incredible Canadian-Estonian painter and charcoal artist. Born in Tallinn, Estonia. Studied art in Sweden. Came to Canada in 1957. Has exhibited all over the world and won countless awards. Resident of Bancroft, Ontario since 1988.

November 2019 – Out of the Silence: Veterans Art
Out of the Silence is an exhibition of art work created by military veterans who use art for therapy. The works will be on display from November 12 – 30th in the gallery at Studio Dreamshare.  The collection depicts the healing potential of the creative arts when faced with the challenges of being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety. There will be an eclectic range of art styles offered which include, masks, paintings, photos, sculptures and poems.

Vernissage – November 12, 7 pm
Welcome by the curator/art therapist, Marillyn Saffery. Some of the veterans will share ideas on their art work.  Poetry readings, music.

Paint Nights: November 2, 3 pm, November 16, 3 pm (get tickets)
Come to the studio to enjoy a relaxing and fun Paint Night with Marillyn Saffery. We will do a landscape study on pine board in acrylic.
Marillyn Saffery, BFA, DipAT, RP : Marillyn has been practicing as an art therapist in the Ottawa Valley since 2004. Her clients include people with anxiety and depression, emotional and relational issues, youth and adult as well as military veterans. She enthusiastically introduces these clients to expressive and visual arts in her studio at home. For years Marillyn worked as one of Pembroke’s mural artists, both painting her own murals and repairing others. As well, she has always enjoyed working in the theater as a set designer and painter. Marillyn has a Fine Arts degree (University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa), which is a 4 year degree specializing in Painting, Drawing, Design and History of Art. She also has a post-graduate degree in Art Therapy (University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario), a 2-year program combining Art Therapy and Psychology. She is a Registered Psychotherapist, a member of the CRPO.
