STUDIO DREAMSHARE HIRING A SUMMER STUDENT
Contract July 16 to August 26 2018.
$14/hour, 30 hours per week for 6 weeks.
This summer Studio Dreamshare is producing an acting camp for youth and an independent film. The production, Stel and the Violin, is a full-length feature film for children set and filmed entirely in the Ottawa Valley. Studio Dreamshare is hiring a summer student with a background in acting and production (costume and set design) to work primarily on these projects from July 15 to August 26. Musical background (incl. composition) an asset.
July 15-August 5: Constructing sets, making costumes
Sewing animal costumes, building animal headpieces
Labelling and organizing costumes by scene
Soliciting extras for the film, keeping a contact file, release forms, and writing communications
August 5-August 11: Setup for camp, finalize costumes
August 11-18: Lead acting workshops and activities for youth (film or stage background acceptable)
Prepare snacks for the youth participants
Help keep the studio orderly
August 19: Quiet on set! You will be the Producer on set, location prepping, managing props, organizing transport of actors, crowd wrangling, etc.
August 19-August 25: wrap up filming, takedown and cleanup of sets
We are looking for someone to join our team who is an all-around creative, able to jump into various roles as needed. You must be able to make costumes and help with sets. You must be able to run acting workshops and activities with the youth participants. Your availability must be on-call from August 10-20. Positive attitude essential; you are an ideal candidate if your references can tell us that you are enthusiastic about your work, a problem-solver, and get along well with others. Musical skills, score composition, musical performance skills a bonus. Make-up skills a bonus. On set film experience is a bonus, but not essential.
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
